Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, Isolate - What's the Difference?

Full Spectrum CBD Oil Canada | Buy CBD in Canada | CBD Emporium-Windsor Ontario

CBD continues to rise in popularity as more people are becoming aware of its many health benefits. When shopping for CBD you will notice the terms Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and CBD isolate. These terms refer to the type of CBD extract used to make the product. The major difference between these 3 are the amount of cannabinoids present – cannabinoids are classified as naturally occurring compounds found in hemp, this includes CBD, THC, CBG and more.

What is Full Spectrum CBD?

Full spectrum CBD oil derived from hemp is a whole plant extract that contains the naturally occurring cannabinoids found in hemp, including small amounts of THC (less than 0.3%).

Will Full Spectrum CBD get me high?

Full Spectrum CBD derived from hemp will contain a THC level of 0.3% or less, which is not enough to feel the psychoactive effects of THC. However, we understand that some people are more sensitive than others and that's where Broad Spectrum or CBD isolate products may be a better option for you.

What is Broad Spectrum CBD?

Broad Spectrum CBD is a whole plant extract that contains the minor but beneficial compounds found in hemp, except it is THC-free.

What is CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate is a crystalline solid or powder extract that is 99.9% CBD and THC-free.

Is one better than the other?

There are over 100 different cannabinoids in hemp and the most abundant is CBD. The other cannabinoids are present in smaller amounts but studies are showing that they contain their own health benefits. These compounds are CBN, CBDV, CBG and CBC. The biggest advantage of using Full Spectrum & Broad Spectrum CBD products is the entourage effect. This is a phenomenon that occurs when cannabinoids are kept together - they work synergistically to enhance each other's benefits. While the benefits of these compounds are still being discovered, research has shown that these benefits may include anti-inflammatory, antiviral and neuro-protective properties, to name a few.
